Have you seen seen that WoodenBoat Magazine is bringing out a special addition in late November.

Covergirls are the Bolger/Payson Gloucester Light Dory, the Gartside Skylark, and Bolger's elegant Blackbird outboard cruiser. Over two dozen small boats are featured, boats you'll want to see, build, and sail... there's practically a party going on between the covers!
Here's the rundown:
Duck Trap Wherry
Boothbay Harbor 21
Ben Garvey
Flatfish
Rieff kitboat
Norwalk Islands Sharpie
Westport Skiff
Motaubin Daysailer
Endeavor 17
Skylark
Fiddlehead
Pygmy Coho
Annapolis Wherry
Blackbird
Vivier Pocket Cruiser
Lake Oswego Boat
Rascal
Tolman skiff
Stambaugh 15' Skiff
Bolger Light Dory
Elf
James Craft Runabout
Ness Yole
West Pointer
Norseboat

Lookes like a good cross section of boats for anyone looking for something new to build.

Nope don't work for them.

Excellent, will the subscribers get it or will I have to tour the newsstand?

Btw, excellent all-northwest thread so far!

Looks like a 'Boat Design Quarterly' special to me. Many of those selections have been reviewed by Mike O'Brien in past issues. Looking forward to rereading about them, especially Blackbird, which was the subject of thread here once (among others).

WB also offers online videos of two past articles (Quiet Tune and Making a Cleat) accessible from the home webpage.

Wow! Small Boats looks great, I'll definately pick one up. And I also enjoyed the videos of Quiet Tune and making a wood cleat.

Wow! Great collection. And this should remove any notion that Phil Bolger designs only ugly boats.

So is it a special edition for subscribers only or available at the stands? (in about November 2007  )

I just finished watching the videos  I think that the video on the making of a cleat could have been more user freindly... like showing the details of the peice of paper that young fella was refering to... would have been good! "apprentices workshop"? well as an "apprentice" Id like to be in the loop as to sizes and such

But that Doug Hylan is a charector isnt he! ;) excellent video

Love that balckbird. Came this close to building one - just a little bit too small.

I ordered mine too, and you're right, it took a while to find. Fortunately, I did not run across anything else I needed while looking.
