Hi,
it's been a long, windy year and our previous project'Out of the Blue' (http://www.out-of-the-blue.info/index2.html), an old quarter-tonner, has done us proud. Won all the races we entered her in, bar one, and turns heads all over Osaka Bay.

So, now for the next project. I was given an old Yanmar YAS 8hp and after a month or two of digging came across 'Felix' (http://www.selway-fisher.com/Steamup20.htm#FELIX) , a pretty little 15'9" strip-planked launch. She was designed to take an external combustion engine (as in the pic) but will be powered by the afore mentioned YAS.

Is or has anyone built one of these? Are the folks that built the one above here? Would be very interested to talk if so.

Cheers in advance,

Crip,

Enjoyed your web site.

I'm building one of the Selway Fisher's Snow Bunting fan tail launches so I'm not familiar with the 'felix' design.

What I can tell you is Paul Fisher is one of the most helpful and supportive designers around. His plans are lofted and easy to follow.

If you haven't already signed up, I would go to Selway Fisher web site and join their boat building forum. The link is found on his home page:

http://www.selway-fisher.com/

Many of us have posted our boat bulding photos on the site and, there is a small forum of builders that provide helpful advice. Many of us wonder how Paul does it, but after you post a question and he usually replies within a day,

Larry

Cheers for the tip, Larry. Have signed up and maybe saw pix of your boat in the 'photos' area (?) Very nice.

I've been in touch with Mr. Fisher, and as you say, a very helpful fella he is too.

Glad you liked my site.
