It is that time of year all the leaf peepers are out running the highways and the most color they see are from the tail and brake lights on the cars in front of them.
To get a better view and without burning any gas, just take a walk in the back yard.:)
This is down back looking back towards the house, no can't see the house it is almost 1/2 mile away and 250 ft in elevation up the hill on the left side.

It is a great year for foliage, the maples are red while the other trees are starting to change, most years the maples loose the leaves before the yellows start to show.

A couple of trees taken down by a beaver, note woodchips on the ground.
The following photos are are in the state park a few hundred feet beyond my back boundary. There is a campground at the far end of the pond but it is closed after the first week of Sept. so only a few hikers and bow hunters see this area during foliage season.

We made the "Foliage Tour" a few years ago. MA, VT, NH circuit. Spectacular!

Thanks for the pics. You have quite a spread.

We call 'em "Left blinkers" around here...... The ........er... People from New Jersey and New York mostly, who just drive slowly up the road, with their left hand blinker on, so you can't pass 'em.... Looking at freakin' leaves!
If ya hadn't ruined yer own state by building so many goddamned ugly stupid condos, you could see the same damned thing there! SO STOP BUILDING YOUR FREAKIN' UGLY CONDOS HERE!

Mom and Dad's place is much like Ken's in that the best tour comes from walking out the back door.:)

Just got back from Western Maryland and West Virginia on a quest for colors. Got a great view from a steam train!

We're just starting to get some color here in the Smokys. And the tourans are showing up in spades. They dont even bother with blinkers in any direction, they just stop in the middle of the road, then go on, then turn without a blinker assuming everybody behind them are mind readers
