dubya likes to take out the laundry on Friday afternoons while the news guys are at happy hour and can't get it into the press. So in case you don't see it later, here's a few late releases:

An aide to top White House political adviser Karl Rove resigned in the fallout over a congressional report showing many White House contacts with ex-lobbyist Jack Abramoff, a spokeswoman said on Friday.

Guards at Guantanamo Bay bragged about beating detainees and described it as common practice, a Marine sergeant said in a sworn statement obtained by The Associated Press.

A U.S. Navy medic admitted on Friday taking part in the kidnap of an Iraqi civilian killed by his squad and said the murder was prompted by his patrol leader's anger at the release of a suspected "terrorist" from Baghdad's Abu Ghraib prison.

And don't forget C. Rices prognostications for Bagdad. Really.

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) – Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, making an election–season visit to Iraq, said Thursday she will tell its leaders they have limited time to settle political differences spurring sectarian and insurgent violence.

"They don’t have time for endless debate of these issues," Rice said during a news conference aboard her plane. "They have really got to move forward. That is one of the messages that I’ll take, but it will also be a message of support and what can we do to help."

The limit's about a year and a half -- the Shrubbery needs to be able to declare victory before the 2008 campaign gets into full swing. :D
