View Full Version : Can you ID this design? Skipper Boat?

A colleague of mine at work brought in a few old pics of a boat his grandfather built in the mid to late 1940’s. He called the design a Skipper Boat and used it on Saranac Lake in NY. It’s a smallish skiff, looks around 12’-14’ or so. It has flat bow like a garvey with a rather distinctive barrel shaped deck over the front half of the boat. Interesting design. I was wondering if anybody here is familiar with this design or is it a possible one-off?

I'd bet the guy's boat was built from plans in an old magazine. Several sources for that stuff online, including reprints from DN Goodchild.
Hard to say if it's the same boat given the different angles of the photos, but look here:
