He is in a new TV show called Shark it's a pretty good show for TV and I have always liked Woods.

A little Wikipida on Woods revels what I could always tell from his acting. The guy is off the charts bright.

Woods was born in Vernal, Utah to Gail Peyton Woods, an army intelligence officer who died in 1960 following routine surgery, and Martha Dixon, who operated a pre-school after her husband's death; he had a brother, Michael. Woods, who was raised in his Irish American mother's Catholic religion, grew up in Warwick, Rhode Island, where he attended Pilgrim High School. Woods had been accepted to attend the United States Air Force Academy with the intention of becoming a fighter pilot. Unfortunately, several weeks before he was to depart, Woods suffered an accident involving falling through a plate glass window -- which injured his hand tendons severely enough to result in his acceptance being retracted.
Thus Woods chose to pursue his undergraduate studies at MIT where he majored in political science (though he originally planned on a career as a surgeon), but dropped out in 1969, just before his graduation, in order to pursue a career in acting. Woods headed to New York City, calling his mother to tell her of his plans.
While his mother wasn't thrilled at the prospect of her son pursuing a career as an actor, she blessed him to follow his dream. He was considered a brilliant student and had been permitted to enroll in a linear algebra course at UCLA while still in high school. He scored a perfect 800 on the verbal SAT and 779 on the math portion. Woods is believed to have an IQ of 180 based on the Stanford-Binet IQ test.

He's a very competent actor. I haven't seen the show, but from the trailers it doesn't look like my cup of tea. Why glorify the worst in the culture with a top-shelf actor? If the writing is making some comment on unethical legal practices, why don't they show that in the teasers? Instead they show a sort of Terminator meets Perry Mason.

Dunno, haven't seen it. But I like Woods.

Ironic that someone so inteligent chooses to make a living on the idiot box.

What Bill W. has to do with this is unclear, but the idiot box, for all its problems, is often under rated. There's some good writing and acting that passes by. You have to get past the comercials(woof) but I watch a few shows. I also find myself just turning it off more and more because the comercials are so pervasive.

In that both you and Joe stated you liked James Woods. I'd thought I'd pass this little known TV movie gem on.
James Woods does a superlatively good job.

Ah, now I get it Chris.

I watched that film as part of my drink driving class. It was pretty good. Woods usually plays an edgey, hard fellow. Something about his adolescent acne scars and every guy image. Being vulnerable and broken was a nice stretch.

When I have my press agent release my bio I'm going to have an IQ of 180 to. Like asking Charles Barkley about his golf score; you can't swing like that and break 100. I never believe that IQ stuff. really, mines only 165. . . . . . . for real.

The scene where he and James Garner are strolling down Maine St. Ackron , OH, free from their deadly affliction and they witness a couple of drunks in an alley helping each other up off the ground and knowing they are just but a drink away from the same condition and their solution remains in service is as poinient as it gets.
