View Full Version : The Dems seem well funded in Maine

They've been going after the Rebublican challenger for the governor's office hammer and tong. I haven't decided how to vote, and let the ads roll off my back. Things seem to be going pretty well with the current Democrat, Baldaci, so I imagine he'll be re-elected. But the ads have been running ten to one against Woodcock, the neck and neck challenger. Baldaci seems a good schmoozer. He shows up at any photo op. He also seems a pretty genuine guy. Woodcock is probably more my flavor. More retiring, more libertarian and conservative. Even though he's getting hammered in the ads, the last poll I saw had them even.

Interesting. Who was it said, "As Maine goes, so goes the nation." I have a month plus a little to learn more. If other Mainer's can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

Here's a little guide to help you:

Republican=Spawn of Satan.

You'll be wrong once in a while, but these days, not often.

"As Maine goes, so goes the nation." Not this year.
Think about the facts, 10 to 1 against. Think about that.

I just want to learn more about the men I'm voting on. I know a little about Baldaci. A native son who ran his family restaurant in Bangor for years, a fiscal moderate, liberal on various other issues. Woodcock is an unknown, to me. I need to get up to speed before the ballot.
