Well everybody, I have gotten Tom Lathrop to design a 28' version of his Bluejacket. I'd really like to have the hull built then finish her off myself. I am afraid that trying to do the whole thing solo might result in yet another unfinished backyard boat. Construction is pretty much standard "stitch & glue" with xynol sheathing. I am seeking suggestions for builders who might be interested in this. I live in PA. Tom's site is at http://www.bluejacketboats.com/ though the 28 is not there yet.
Thanks everyone. Rick

I'll do it. We'll have to trailer it down to PA. after I finish the hull, but that shouldn't be a problem.

I'd be interested, but probably won't be able to start until this upcoming Spring.

Get in touch with Geoff McKonly at the Philadelphia Wooden Boat Factory. Close enough that you could visit during the build. They were the ones who restored the life boat "1776" and the Buzzards Bay 15 "ELF" that were at this years' WBS.
I volunteer there almost weekly, so send me a PM if you like, and I'll tell you about the shop.

Thanks everbody for your responses. Mr, transport ought not to be a problem since it's a trailer boat and will need a trailer anyhow.
Thad, Muncy is just southeast of Williamsport on the Susquehanna River.
I am in discussion with a boatbuilder about 30 miles from me right now. I'll repost if things do not work out with him. Rick

Oh, is that Jim shotwell?

I don't know him, but I here he does good work. And he has those cool chris craft kits for sale.
