After almost 3 years of design and building, I launched my 12' catboat last weekend. I drew the lines after studying Chapelle's "Yacht Designing and Planning," Fenwick Williams' design article in "The Catboat Book," and careful looking at Beetle Cats and other similar boats. I bought a used Beetle Cat rig and sail, and on launch day everything seemed to work--didn't even need trim ballast! The wind was light, so we'll see how things go in heavier weather. Anyway I wanted to share the good news and some photos.
