What's this about? Will we see a revival of the anti-trust cases over the purchase and closure of the San Francisco trolley lines in the late 20's?

Nothing like letting California write policy for the whole country.

Any hint as to what they are being sued for?

Sorry Jim, lol
Dan, something about being blamed for greenhouse gas emissions.

That one. It's a kind of interesting case, where California is attempting to set its own CAFE standards for fuel economy. I remember attempting to get a statement from a CARB official on the issue, who had a lawyer listen to his call and yell at him anytime he said they were attempting to set fuel economy standards. Ah. Lawyers.

Apparently, they are suing the auto companies for damages from global warming. El Nino apparently doesn't have deep enough pockets, otherwise they would be suing him.

I'd have thought that if this case succeeded, the government of CA would in turn be actionable for having neglected to ban the use of cars. Wonder if they've thought that far?

This is outstanding.
Does anyone think they will also sue Aircon manufacturers, or whomsoever turns on the street lighting.

What California won't do for revenue.

Apparently, they did attempt to sue the power companies, but the case was thrown out of court. The state attorney general is running for re-election. He thinks this will help.

Proof positive we have WAY too many lawyers.
