Does anybody have any experience with a Plastimo Iris 100 hand bearing/course compass?

I don't have a lot of cockpit room, and nothing near the helm that isn't already crowded enough, so I like the notion of hanging this thing's bracket to one side of the companionway and stowing it below when I'm not aboard. I'll use it mostly for a course compass, but it'll be available for taking a bearing.
Thoughts?
