I've watched Larry Dahlberg tavel the globe in his "Hunt for Big Fish," and I think I can honestly say, with one exception, that I can get all the excitement a fisherman wants near home. The waters of the Broad River yield abundant smallies - on flies or spincast - and I can fish for sturgeon, salmon and ling cod with my cousin in Oregon, or work the tidal creeks of North Carolina for reds and specks. Those fish more than satisfy my fishing apetitie.

Yeah, there are many places where I would try my hand if I were there anyway, but there is only one fish for which I would specifically travel half the globe to satisfy the angler within...

The Nile Perch...
