Hello guys, new to the site, really enjoy all the usefull information and knowledge being shared here. Much can be learned.
I am hoping that someone may be able to help me out with some research. I recently acquired (what I am told) is a 28.5' Triton hull, built in the 1950's by Walter Pinaud in Baddeck, Nova Scotia. I have looked for a builders plate to verify this, although so far nothing has been found. I thought that by asking around, someone may have some information, any at all would be a help. I am will post some pictures as soon as I can. The Boat is mahogany planked, on oak frames.
I am mostly concerned with information regarding the builder, Walter Pinaud and any stories that may be out there.
Thanks for the great forum, Kyle.

My cousin Henry Fuller is the owner of what was the Pinaud yard. He knows the history. http://www.capebretonboatyard.com/ is the URL.

Hi,
I have done a great deal of research on Walter Pinaud and have a great deal of information and photographs on him. As well , I have written and entry on him for the Encyclopedia of Yacht Designers. I may have pictures
of your boat in my files. Please contact me.

I came upon this site by googling the name Pinaud. I am a nephew of Walter Pinaud. My father, Joseph, also worked in the Pinaud Yacht Yard until World War I. I have fond memories of my visits there as a boy and sailing with Walter Pinaud and his sons on Bras D'Or lake. I would appreciate any additional information or pictures that you have about Walter Pinaud, the Pinaud Yacht Yard or the yachts that they built.

Hi Kyle: My name is John Pinaud, Walters grandson, and your boat, originally named Mary Ellen M, was built for a Sydney gentleman named Arley Copp. After Mr. Copps death the boat transfered to Mr. Graham Menzies of Baddeck, the son of Mary Menzies for whom the boat was named. I've enjoyed a weeks cruise on the boat 35 years ago and was sad to see her go down hill over the years. Glad you have taken the job of restoring her and look forward to seeing her in her original glory. Best of luck.
You may contact me at johnwpinaud@hotmail.com if I can help you in any way. best of luck

Hello Kyle: I am not sure if I can help. I am visiting Baddeck next month for the first time in 50 years. Walter Pinaud is my great Uncle. My father was Martin Murdock Pinaud and my name is Martin Wilfred Pinaud son of Martin Senior.
