Dat's a purty boat! I'm partial to ElMacs, but she's still mighty purty.

Dave,

Do you have a plan?A PLAN, A SINGLE PLAN???

Reams of plans, a flood of plans, a deluge of plans, a tidal wave of plans.

Starting with Atkin's Hearts Desire.

Be still my beating heart.

Its a Eldridge Mcginnis Bass Boat 26 feet. With stern steering and is now in East Boothbay ME. It was built by the landing School in 1988 and has a cold molded bottom with mahogany on oak for the rest.

Was she built for the owner of the Steakhouse in Wells. I was at her launching (that was 1989).

Edited to add, I looked through your posting history, sorry I missed your question in August.

I am not sure of who the boat was bulit for. The Landign school built 2 boats one in 1988 and 1989. the 1989/1990 is for sale still and is on yachtworld and is a quarter of a mile from my house in Boothbay.

The pic of the engine looks to me to show the expansion tank lower than the riser. Since you said that water from the exhaust was getting into the engine, that or the gasket may be a part of the problem.

Sorta late now but I never liked the manifolds like those, they often were nothing but problems. Keep your eye on them.

Good luck

that's a great looking boat. I have a set of plans for it and was wondering if you could comment on its performance. Is it as comfortable in a chop as it is advertised.
Thanks

The boat rides very well despite its hard chine. Whats really nice about it is the bow stays down when crusing. The wide stern pushes the bow down and keeps it cutting thru the waves. Also Its great because you can still stear from the stern at 15 knots and see. I have been in Mackenzies of which i think are better looking but you can't see over the windshield when stearing from the stern. Also you can have alot of weight aft and it doesn't really effect your performance.
