Congrats to the kids from Columbus. They had a kid who could throw close to 80mph, and from 40 feet out that extrapolates (as per espn) to something like 110mph for a big league pitcher (or anyone from 60'6"). Regardless, he was bringing the heat. Still, the Japanese have caught up to us in baseball, as have the Cubans and the Domincans. Baseball is the second most popular sport in a large chunk of the world now. It's a shame they are kicking it out of the Olympics. Not really sure why except that the Europeans don't like it, and what the Europeans don't like is usually not in the Olympics (witness the Yngling as the women's keelboat in the Games!).
