Well 2 questions really. I have this old solid bronze rudder from a mid-50's Trojan cruiser- long since gone. Its about the same size and shape the plans call for on my 15' sport runabout.- 'course it weigh's about 15 pounds. Wonder if I could use it on the runabout? Second, I'd like to polish it and then engine-turn the finish. Ok, so its a slow day in the shop, Since it was cast, the surface is pretty rough. I'd have to start with a body grinder with maybe 60 grit, then work with a sander up 400 grit, and then use a polishing wheel. Is this how you guys would do it?

Oh, you said ruDDer  Seriously, as I recall those rudders, they were a "high speed" design which should work just fine on your runabout.
I agree, it should work just fine for your runabout.

Righto - with the Subie engine. Bet it'll make a great ride.
You may have come across this before, but these guys offer a lot of goodies: Glenwood Marine Equipment (http://www.glenwoodmarine.com/)
