Just phishing. Insert humor, depending on your bent/capability. I promise to go away completely in two days regardless if this thread sinks or not. Going "fishing" (last cruise of the season) next week. We'll be around for two days, then off to points north. We'll return with photos, tall tales, and hopefully, all the wood and metal we left with. Political slant prefered but not absolutely required. One liners always appreciated.

Any posting by Ljb5 is a real knee slapper. What makes it even funnier is that he is trying to be both intelligent and serious.

In regard to the original post: I took those comments as being said "tongue-in-cheek" humor.

Hmmm Letterman VS Bill O'Reily - Letterman wins
Jon Stewart VS Rush Limbaugh - Stewart wins
Stephen Colbert VS Ann Coulter - Colbert wins
Bill Maher VS Sean Hannity - Maher wins
I could go on and on but I do think liberals are more funny.

Anyone read 'Mallard Filmore', the conservative comic strip?
There have been a number of 'liberal' comic strips for some time, but 'Mallard Filmore' is the only one I know of that attempts what might be called 'conservative' humor.
I honestly don't know if it's any sort of bias on my part... but I've yet to see one edition of the strip which is even remotely funny. Mostly, it's a pictorial illustration of a talking point. I think I've got a pretty decent sense of humor.... and the so-called 'liberal' comic strips aren't always funny, but at least sometimes they are. I've yet to see a 'Mallard Filmore' which would strike me as funny even if it was making a conservative point of view.

I suppose it's true. Some of the things I've said may not qualify as Nobel Prize winning material....
...then again, taking the sum total of all my faults, every mistake I ever made, every mis-statement, every error, every dumb idea, every unjustifiable position....
...I've never, ever, ever, done anything so gad-awful stupid as invading another country with insufficient troops, uncertain objectives, unjustifiable reasons, unattainable goals and unreliable sources.
Go ahead --- string me up for my intellectual faults... but I'm sure you can find a few others who might be a tad more deserving.

You have to admit that Anne Coulter is the funniest thing since Phyllis Diller with her legs open! :D

The problem is, that funny people tend to be liberal, not the other way around.

I think it depends entirely on how well developed your sense of irony is.
Erster, Oyster, Mlke, On Vacation...
How do you feel about neocons leaking classified information to punish people and selectively declassifying information to create artificial support for an unjustified war?
Are we really supposed to care that our national security was breached by Libby and Armitage, not Libby and Rove?
Does that make such a difference?
Or is the truly important matter the fact that our national security was breached and the agencies that are supposed to keep us safe were perverted into tools to distort information, threaten Americans and support an unjustified war?
It's a matter of priorities. What do you care about more -- national security, or being able to 'score points' by pointing out that it was one neocon sleazeball and not the other neocon sleazeball?
Also, Oyster, Erster, Mlke, On Vacation, you should consider the fact that Dick Armitage's involvement does not eliminate the possibility that Rove was also involved.
In fact, Robert Novak has confirmed that he discussed Plame's identity with Rove.
You seem to be fixated on Armitage's involvement as if that exonerates Rove --- in fact, it just shows that the whole lot of them are corrupt and indicates that they were colluding.
No diversions here. Stick to the point. Retract your own lies that you continue to spill across just this one website.
What lies?
I said Rove was involved --- and he was.
Even Bob Novak has acknowledged this.
Now we learn that Dick Armitage was also involved --- perhaps even more involved ---- but that doesn't change the fact that Rove was involved.
So they were both involved. Does that make it right?
