View Full Version : Object selection in AutoCAD

Been trying to figure this one out and for the life of me I can't.

Every now and than I get an AutoCAD drawing that for some reason or another slows up on the pick. What I'm trying to say is that when I select objects it takes a minute after the click for it to register on the screen. It is esp. slow when using pick to grip objects.

It is not with AutoCAD being slow. Once an object is selected AutoCAD works fine, it is just the selection process.

It is drawing specific and not a general autocad problem. I can have multiple drawings open and it is only a problem with one drawing, and the problem stays with that drawing, even the next day when you first start CAD and have only the one drawing open.

I thought it might be a hatch problem or a drawing size problem. Usually it happens on site plans where I have a lot of hatch. But this is not the case. I've seen it happen on section sheets where there is no hatch, the drawing size is small and all extra blocks have been purged out.

I thought it might be the limits set to small. So I reset the limits and still no go, although this made a small difference.

Has anyone else seen this problem?

Finally found the fix. Appeartantly there is a bad dll file and they had posted a fix. Just took me some time to find the fix.

dswhip.dll
