I am thinking of replacing my 9'-6" nesting Nutshell pram with a regular but lighter Nutshell to use with my new davits. Any ideas of what plywood to use to make it lighter than a mahogany ply one? What about luan? I can hear the groans.
Thanks

The scantlings of Nutshell are _very_ carefully selected.
The changes i'd consider would be:
- use okoume ply for the the transoms and for the 1/4" strakes.
- Use 3/4" cedar or pine for the thwarts
