I have a flag, (the nationality of which I will not divulge), that I would like to fly on the stern of the dinghy my son and I are building. The flag came with a cord along one edge with a wooden toggle at the top end and a loop in the other. Can anyone tell me how to make a flag pole to suit, include any hardware I might need??

Thanks!

It depends on who's flag it is.

Tapered pole, button on top, loop of cord at top to take the toggle and a thumb cleat at the bottom. What's the problem with nationality?

Judging from the home town, I'll bet that the flag is one of them, you know, them types of flags. The one that symbolizes, well, you know, southern unity, or division, or something like that.

Well, heck, it's the one that was displayed on the roof of a car on a popular early 80's good ol' boy TV show. General Lee as I recall.

That's my guess, anyway.

Y'know, this is odd. I stayed up till almost 2 AM watching the replay of game 6 of the 1991 World Series (on ESPN Classic), so I'm a little tired this morning. As a diehard Twins fan, I'd suggest flying that Braves banner off the keel! :D

Many thanks guys. The flag is actually a red ensign, you know the one with the Union Jack in the top corner. I plan on flying it on the 4th once I am far enough from shore to avoid anything the colonials might throw at me!! ;)

Gawd 'n' Her Majesty love every man-jack of yer! A tot o' grog on the poopdeck at six bells before setting blockade to the lubberly rebel colonialists! Her Majesty's loyal Nova Scotian colonists will sail out the Tancook Whaler'o'War for a bit o' privateering whilst you Limeys pens 'em in the 'arbour! Har-r-r-r! :D
