I have looked at the pictures posted of the WBS whitehall while it was under construction and can't tell if plastic wire ties or wire wire ties were used to hold the frames to the ribbands. This seems a better way than nailing or screwing. Comments? I also must say that the WBS 2 week fundamentals class was fantastic and answered or explained every question I couldn't learn from books. Sell your first born if you must - but take the course or something similar if you want to learn how to do all this properly.

I took the fundamentals class last summer - If it is a recent pic - I may have steam bent those frames.

The ties we used are wire ties used for rebar (concrete re-enforcment). They buy a large sack of the ties, and you loop them around and snug-em up with spinny-hook thingy.

The cut off real easy and are very inexpensive compared to cable ties - they go on faster than cable ties too.

The boat is a redesign by Greg Rossell. He calls it a baby Whitehall. It's 11' long. Greg sells the drawings. It is a really nice boat.

Take Care,
Bob

Bob, Thanks, that's just what info I needed. I thought the whitehall looked a little shorter. I took the class a few years ago and they were building a 15 footer then. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Bruce
