Boating may become a more necessary way of life in a few years for many who live near the coast in many parts of the world, if as predicted the effects of global warming as described in An Inconvenient Truth come to pass. You owe it to your kids and grandkids to see this film.

Similar report on the tube last night by Tom Brokow.
One's attutude toward this seems to depend on one's politics. I've no idea why. Noah probably had similar critics.

Shouldn't be political Paul, politics won't influence whatever way this develops except that if the 'worst' happens then it will be EVERYONE'S problem. We may disagree on the science, but we shoul all agree on a 'just in case' plan, considering the possible consequences. Nevertheless, I can see Govt's of all persuasions being very nervous, even if their advisors gave warming the green light, can you imagine the reaction if the Pres appeared on tv saying, "....and our best advice says that by 2050 New Orleans will be permanently flooded and of course the rest of the world's coastlines............". I dont think they'd be game to do it, or be able to handle the consequences, except possibly with martial law.
Hell of a choice, even for a politician. And what if it was you?

I agree, but this section is: Misc. Boat Related. And only in the most esoteric fashion will conversation on this subject be related to boats.
