I think of buying a fein multimaster.... , but I read on the net in a few months Fein is planning to change the attachment system, instead of a round hole it would become a more starlike attachment not unlike on the more expensive model (supercut) but not exactly the same seems this change is needed to get a stronger grip .I wonder if this is somekind of marketing protection trick (attachments are terribly overpriced ) Has anyone had any problems with the multimaster tool attachment? .(new system will fit on the older model multimaster but not the other way around)
Is it smarter to wait for the new system on the multimaster.

I have the old style. Seems to work fine with some occaisonal slippage.
Fien sell a ten dollar washer that incorporates the new style drive. Basically a washer with a star pattern faintly machined into one side that interfaces with the blades and some non slip sirface on the back side. Seems to hold better and be more tolerant of not applying enough torque.
This is one tool you will wonder how you did without it.
Scraped barnacles off the prop with it. About 2 minutes, no effort.
Cut bolts with it.
Cut fiberglass decks (in an area NO saw would ever reach) to get at rotted core with it.
Scraped off stickers with little or no goo residue (darn kids).
Takes out old window glazing putty SOOOO easy...it almost makes reglazing windows fun.
Amazing tool.

My understanding is Fein's Multimaster patent is nearing expiration.
Makes sense because there are no other tools like it - however I expect they will start making changes to help extend it.
I suspect the copies will start coming out soon. But it would sure be nice if someone would make less expensive blades.
