Serious poetry having had a run, what about serious doggerel? Come on, get yer cliches, forced metre, bad rhyme an weak jokes out.
Original please!
Here's a start:

The moon is shining overhead
I'm lying half asleep
The camp fire, flickering merrily
Is warming up my feet

Some friendly moths are hovering round
Some fly right through the smoke
(That stuns them for a while
But they treat it as a joke)
Sometimes they fly right through the flames
They fly quite indiscreetly-
I like it when they do, because
That f***s them up completely.

Bravo! I love this stuff, and it deserves a good thread.

Unfortunately I've run dry of it lately, but I'll see what I can come up with.

Vaguely I recall the ditty I came up with here just before Mir space station streaked, quite uncertainly, toward earth:

Mir, Oh Mir, above the water,
May you splash just where you otter
Lest errant seamen you should send
To their quick, untimely end
Sounding Komrade Jones' locker.

A limerick:

A masochist lady named Rose
Struck her face the most terrible blows
One day, when her fist
Disappeared to the wrist
She said "That gets right up my nose!"

There was a young lady from Mold
Who developed a terrible cold
But in her interstices
There lurked a far worse disease
Which scared off the boys so I'm told
