Well I had young Lukas (6mths) out in the shed with "Poppy Shane" today and got to wonderin... then saw Phils wee thread about his second grandhoon and thought "Its grandhoon day?? WHAAHOOOOO!!!"
So Im thinkin... I mean just how young is young enough to start a hoonberry to learnin the woodbutcherin trade?

Aaahh mate tis the easier life I hanker for I tells yer them slicks and adazes whew!:o thems fer the younguns not us ol pharts :p Im a bit of a modern fella me thinks :p why do somethin the hard way when you can do it the smart way? (settin the fox amid it again! ;) )
Young Lukas thought the Lathe was a bit of a worry when we first fronted him to it... but after awhile couldnt take his eyes of it!! ;)
As for the Triton router man he sure wanted that baby!!! :D
I must admit I was worried when he held that hammer... he had this sparkle in his eye as if to say "dont get smart with me old fella!" funny little fella
I admit I more often nowadays have young Josh out there with me but am a tad leary of puttin him to the lathe or any of the larger tools... hes a right shortass he is! (sorta like his old man eh) So Im plannin on doin as Steve has obviously done and get a small lathe special for him! Hes so curious lately its amazing... had to make him his own bench a couple of mallets and some clamps and now hes got an order in for a jap saw and several other odds and sods for birfdys and Chrissy pressies... but I do think its a good thing... he comes out and sits on the moanin chair and is content most days to watch ask nosey questions and generally pester me with the weirdest questions and words a mile a second!! Generally I prefer bein alone out there... but its good havin him and whoever else wanders out there to take an interest
Tiff has always been the most interested and most helpful actually (although both the boys have from time to time shown some interest hers has been more constant)... and now spends as much time in there as she can with young Lukas on her knee just watchin handlin a peice of Sheoak or Wandoo Jarrah or banksia and him eyeballin everything that moves!!
But the firm rule still remains... DONT ENTER UNLESS THE MACHINES ARE OFF!!... good rule that ;)
