I have been watching the fourms for quite awhile but to be honest, I've been afraid to "rub shoulders" with the talent out there. You guys have an enormous experience and I have so little.
So, here goes.
I started a 24ft cruiser a few months ago, got this far and have a question. What sort of fitting should I use to bring the prop shaft thru the hull???
Picture below is of a form I made just to be sure I could move the finished boat out of my basement. Smart hey!!!
Thanks in advance for any help.

Here's a good book on how to do inboard motor installations, including drilling for shafts and installing shaft logs and stuffing boxes, etc. it will answer most of your installation questions.
http://shop.glenl.com/browse.cfm/4,222.htm
and here is Glen-L's inboard hardware catalong:

your installation (inboard I presume?) will consisit of several parts. The shaft log, the stuffing box and the stern bearing. Look those parts up in the catalog index on Glen-L's page to see what they are. http://www.glen-l.com/inboard-hdw/hdw-index.html

I recently finished boring the drive shaft for my 32' sailboat. In addition to the information already posted, I used information posted by Paul Gartside. web page (http://www.gartsideboats.com/). His best suggestion is to get the shaft roughed-in early. Though I did not do that, I was able to bore the shaft with a long 1/2" pilot drill and then ream it out with a boring bar. http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid188/pefc32e36317dd94e8a115dec00800f78/f22a55c8.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid188/p56b22accdbe8574c090693acae856f1c/f22a568a.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid188/p18e37ad16bcddd3e8258c940b2aa7e8c/f22a5a22.jpg
