Hi guys,
I found this little boat in a Seattle garage where it's been sitting
for probably 30 years. It's pretty much just the hull, the hardware and interior fittings where removed long ago. I'd like to bring her back, but before I start I'd like to know something about her.
That's the problem. I can't find anything. Even the local wooden boat center couldn't help.
She's A 14' runabout , clinker built of solid mahogany, and the only identifying mark on her is the nameplate that says "With".
I know it's not much to go on, but I'm hoping someone will know something. Anyone?
Thanks
U.B.
Welcome to the forum bettyd. Photos would be a big help. Can you post some?

Thanks Jim. You're right a photo would help but my files are too big. Unless you know a way around that, the best I can do is just to describe it. Looks a little like a Lyman with a wood framed windshield.
The name " With " is in a type of script.
I'll keep working on the pics.
Somebody smarter than me will come along with help for your big files but generally if you take a pic with a digital camera and upload it to an image website such as Sony's Imagestation and then post the url from Imagestation to here you should be ok.

A bit of a learning curve for me but let's see what happens.
Photos please.....

Okay. Well.... it's a start.
Anyone recognize this? How about a guess at her age?

Try uploading your larger photos to your photobucket account, then putting in the links as above.
Most of the image-storage sites will auto-reduce the image to a certain size anyway, and the larger image will let us get a better look at the boat -- very interesting and pretty from what I can see.

Is this better? I think it's a pretty little boat too. A few cracked strakes and a little rot but nothing too major. If someone can ID her then I maybe I'll have some idea of what she's supposed to look like.
Otherwise I'm just gonna wing it. I'll look at some other similar boats and go from there.
Any thoughts on gluing the cracks back together?

As far as I can remember,With was/is a Norwegian company. No results on google and there are very few Scandinavians likley to browse this forum.
She is pretty! Don't be hasty with any glue application until some members with experience with these types of boats show up with their two cents worth. Pictures always seem to get people's attention. Got any more? :)

Get a few more photos online, and search these forums for Norwegian contributors -- or those close-by countries.

She does have a rather Norwegian feel to her.
OK. I switched Google to Norwegian and searched on "With" and I think I found what we are after: http://www.withmarine.no Unfortunately, the site seems to be down at the moment, but hopefully it will come back up soon.

Couldn't get into the site either, or load the cached version ( a trick that often works), but they do/did have email -
