And a good one it is, to be sure! The portapotty was actually in the starboard forward hold, such that you looked like a tank driver with your head sticking up if you actually used it. I admit to never using it thus, but it was awkward at best below, sitting on the deck in a small, Wharram catamaran. This is in the starboard hull looking forward:

I made an existing hatch into the storage area larger, and made a floor as low as possible considering the v-hull. It doesn't show in this photo, but the flush handle is accessed thru a cut-out in the bulkhead. Then I built the hinged cover so the portapotty could be covered up when not in use. I put a latch hook on the cover to contain the potty should I go banging thru some seas!

Here are two shots in the port hull, first looking forward, second looking aft:

There are more cushions for converting the aft area to a bunk when needed. Spartan, but I am thinking of building some 6" shelves from bulkhead to bulkhead in the forward outer sides of the hulls for stashing books and/or quick nutrition.

Nice! What are the white painted frames made from? They look so thin.

The ring frames are 6mm ply, Jim. Maybe the rounded edge makes them look thinner.

I've tried shelves and I've tried canvas pouches in small boats, and in many ways the pouches are more convenient, they keep things quiet and don't intrude so much on space.
A quick way to do this is to buy one or two of those canvas organizers they sell designed to fit in 5-gal. buckets. Just open it up and hang it. (OK, it might take a little trimming to hang flat.) If you don't want to leave your stuff in the boat, you can hang the organizer on hooks so it can be lifted off and rolled up when it's time to go home.

The canvas organizers are a worthy suggestion, I'll add them to the mix.

Kim,

Looks like great work. Very tidy. Any chance you could show us the rest of the boat???

Cheers,
Garth

:D Wish I could, Shane, but I've only got pictures from the boat right now. Friends just bought some sort of Cal 30?, so sometime this season I may be able to get some. Here's one out on the water of the San Pedro Channel, with Palos Verdes Peninsula aft:
