I just read on Drudge that VeriChip, the company that makes implantable Rfids, is pushing the "chipping" of all guest workers as a means to prove ID. Some means of less easily forged identification is a part of many illegal immigration plans now being floated.

My question is: Chips or smart cards or what have you, if guest workers had to have them wouldn't that mean everyone applying for work would have to have the same form of identification?

My understanding is,,those cards will take the place of SS cards and the like for the time their working.I may be wrong there.

I suppose it is a moot point because a defacto national ID system has already been passed and will be implemented in the next few years via our drivers licenses. But the idea of chipping large numbers of people gives me the heebee jeebees, nonetheless.
