I was following one along in my neighborhood a couple days ago. It/she stopped right behind two others.
They were the only vehicles in the immidiate vicinity
What type of business were they parked in front of?

Probably participants of a ten step program for people addicted to oil.:D

Chris Coose

Excellent guess Ross. The Roman compound would qualify as a business. See if I can edit the poll.

Tell that to the Enron and Halliburton boys.

Or would it be Tom Cruise and John Travolta?

Or both?

You'd make a excellent polster, almost as good as George. , your poll will result in the answer you desire although it's not a fair and objective poll.

Rep. pol. office of course.

Democrat's can't afford Hummers , unless they are elected officals , of course

At last a honest poll that we can sink our teeth into...

I had to read your original statement twice to get the right answer.
You said the other day, not evening, so that leaves the whore house out. Of course with the holidays coming up, the politicians are on vacation. So the correct answer would have to be the gun shop....more ammo......
Do tell at the end of the poll.....

RonW

So if these are all parked in front of the republican party headquarters?

Why doesn't the average democrat have any money??

Nancy peloski is worth about a 100 million, the clintons are doing fine, al gore jr. has a nice little wad.....

Maybe they are reformed democrats who are changing party, and want to keep what they got. Kinda like abandoning this robin hood theory of taking from the rich and giving to the poor..
that is it, it is reformed democrats at the republican headquarters..
dammed, I thought it was just another ammo run.....

Phillip Allen

I voted Republican headquarters. Am I right?

Maybe but most of the drivers of humpers I've seen are young and full of themselves...I think the only reason the contraptions sell is as a penal extension...mechanical Viagra.

Now that working folk are back to their desks, I'll raise this flag one more time and the answer should be expected some time this evening.

I say tanning salon, and I bet they were all driven there by bubble headed bleached blondes with cell phones clamped securely to their faces.

Phillip Allen

I find the Republican reference to be political parrot-speak and not very connected to reality of who might buy a Hummer and why

TomF
05-30-2006, 07:27 AM
I'm with Lefty - the tanning salon. Hummers on city streets are about the triumph of style over reality...

Now, if the Hummers were INSIDE the business, the answer would be pretty obvious! :D

I can see the arguement for the tanning salon, but I've voted already, and I voted gun shop.

It all really depends on whether it's men in H1s or women in H2s.

If it's the men, then they're already trying to compensate for some other lack in their lives, and guns would just reinforce that.

I did see one at a gun shop once. It was driven by a twenty-something black man looking for pop-pop guns and military looking black plastic tactical Rambo stuff with bayonet and $150 dollar flashlight attachments. Absolutely silly stuff. I always am struck with such people as those likely to make udan-udan noises in the bath-tub while playing with his floty toys. The Hummer fits right in there and that's why I voted for the tanning salon…turned in on himself...all the spiffy clothes and up-to-date cell-phone and the like.

Now that working folk are back to their desks,.

 Again , if they are back at work , why would they be on WBF? Do these working members "work" at or for WBF?

Must be liberal Dem's "stickin it to the man" Dickin the dog at work , call the SPCA!:D

When it comes to inanimates, boats are "she", Hummers are "it".
I'm thinking a "she" was driving an "it".

Chris Coose
05-30-2006, 11:36 AM
Is the truck she or the driver she?
If you consider a Hummer a boat, which is a 60's reference to large Detroit iron, then the vehicle might be considered a she. But in this case the vehicle is an it and the driver is a she.
I wouldn't want to make assumptions about the other drivers.

In the Stupid, Useless, Vehicle category, I've always thought the H2 and H3 should be at the top up the list. Not only useless, but UGLY.

I have a hard time grasping just how far they have fallen.

Has anyone driven an H3 or H2? What are they like? I hear it's hard to find anything less reliable. At 10mpg, what's the attraction?

I answer with a question: Why is it more attractive to be burnt brown as an old saddle?

They're trucks and drive like trucks (or at least what counts as a truck nowdays).

JD Powers survey in 2003 found that the H2 had the lowest customer satisfaction of any vehicle in their survey that year. The biggest complaint was the poor gas milage. I am not making this up.

I voted "Mental Health Clinic" cause whoever drives those things has either self esteem issues , or they are afraid the countries going to be attacked.

Since you didn't mention a penile implant clinic, I would have to say a tanning salon...

http://mysite.verizon.net/res1ub0g/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/h1.jpghttp://mysite.verizon.net/res1ub0g/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/h2.jpg

On the left, a real HMVV with CTIS

On the right, H2 with lug nut cover styled to look like CTIS.

Being clever sons-of-guns, the GM stylists have adopted this falsehood as something of trademark - take a look at the H3.

I think of it as an emblem for something else :p

Tanning shop.
I have not seen one at Hamilton Marine, but then again, I don't spend a lot of time observing tank drivers.
Nice tans though. This time of year you can actually get a tan undernormal conditions in Maine.
