Hi, my uncle recently left me a 1969 32' Hubert Johnson sportfisheman. The hull is in good shape. However the topside has had some poorly constructed updates; which need to be repaired or replaced. I am looking for any pictures or drawing of this model in it's classic form. Does anybody have any or know of a good place to look?

Fred, Real nice boat you have there. Hubert Johnson Sea Skiffs were built in Bay Head NJ. There were three 'related' builders in that area of New Jersey "Hubert Johnson", "Morton Johnson", and "Johnson Brothers". I can never remember the relation between the three, but it was the father & sons somehow. Hubert Johnson was known for building high end stock, semi-custom, and custom sea skiffs from about 20 to 35ish feet. The Morton Johnson & Hubert Johnson yards went out of business years ago, however the Johnson Brothers yard is still in business in Bay Head & I believe they do a fair bit of restoration work on all three builders' boats. I would recommend contacting them to see about some photos of boats similar to yours. (I wouldn't count on finding any plans as none of the NJ boat builders worked off plans, they were pretty much all developed thought time & experience.

1974, 27' Hubert Johnson
