Anyone heard from Gareth? I know he was doing a delivery but he's been gone a while. I hope he has some good stories to tell when he gets back.

He made it sound as if he was going to be out and about for awhile.

I'm dying to know about Antigua
edit :)
Thanks for the enquiries Gentlemen.
I drove a support boat (former Moorings 45 catamamran) in Antigua sailing week. I got to sail in a couple of races.
I had a week (supposedly) off in Sint Maarten, ended up elbow deep in diesel.
Then sailed a Swan 46 up from Sint Maarten, with the obligatory stop for Dark and Stormies in Bermuda. Caught a warm eddy of the Gulf stream (the warm eddes are North of the stram and spin clockwise) so we were on a carousel at 3 knots (9 knots SOG), in tropical turquoise water with sargasso weed and flying fish just a hundred miles south of Cape Cod.
Got back on Saturday to find the household equivalent of water in the bilges. I'm spending the day shovelling out stuff that I was hoping to keep.
Nice to know I was missed. I'm off to Wales on Friday for 10 days or so.

Bring woolens - you'll need them unless the weather changes.

I should have said that my old friend ; the Gulf Stream, seems to be on the "gentle" cycle. Hence icicles in Pwllheli

Wales? I hear there's good cider there..... If you happen to run across a bottle or two, and wouldn't mind bringing them back I would be very happy! I have this thing about good cider you see, and you really can't find it here.
The Cider is mostly in South Wales. The Methodists destroyed much of the drinking culture in the North. I will however fulfill your request, to the best of my ability, cider of course should only be stored in wooden casks.
I'm already on the "watch" list ("excuse me sir, you have been selected for a random search", is becoming a familiar phrase), so I cant see me bringing a barrel through customs.

If you stow a barrel, they probably won't think to associate it with cider! :D
Take pics, Gareth!

Watch list? If you're flying with sir Richard, we might be able to help..... If you know what I mean. (Nudge, nudge, wink wink, say no more say no more! ;) )
I'm going with the luck of the blarney (Cunning eh!). Then getting the ferry across the Irish sea.
Mayhap I'll deliver the cider in person ---lobsters too---sourdough when's Uncas there?

Hey Mrleft8
If you like cider try this out
A friend and I made some cider from 16th Century recipe which turned out really nice, a tiny bit sweeter than I would usually go for but that is probably because of the variety of apples we used. They were Bonanza apples which are a variety of small eating apple in Australia (they were cheap at the time), I think something a bit more tart or sour would work better. See the recipe and the details here:

Sounds like a plan Garreth!
Thanks for the recipe Lee! I live in apple country, so I'll give it a try this fall.
