I am in the process of building an Elver canoe yawl and am having trouble finding plwood. I ordered Doug fir marine ply for the bottom but the stuff looks like crap. I can see several void holes along the edges without even cutting into it.
the local lumber yard also has Obeche plywood which has water proof glue and looks real good. No visible voids on the edges. A friend is building a weekender and is using it. He has cut out the bottom and bulkheads and no voids are visible.
Does anyone know anything about Obeche plywood? Is it suitable for boatbuilding
