    Favorite Children's Video

    I was reading Brad's post about favorite movies and had this thought;
Most of us here have or had kids and most of us have sat through a children's video/movie or two with them, sometimes the same video 43 times!
My favorite was Winnie the Pooh's "Day for Eeyore "
    So what was your favorite?

The Snowman, if you have never seen it, it is a must. No voices, just wonderful music.
I'm just enjoying my ride on the trip around the sun.

"My Neighbor Totoro" (Tonari no Totoro) directed by Hayao Miyazaki. The man's a genius; it's the best damn movie for kids of all time. Really good for adults too. There's a decent English dub, so the little ones don't have to deal with subtitles. Miyazaki's films make almost anything animated from the US look completely inane. The Snowman was really good too - the same people have another one called "Grandpa" that's almost as good.

Totoro is great, although I think my daughter has outgrown it. She has been asking for anything by Shakespeare this last year or so. She cracks us up when she does Shylock: "I will have my bond; I will not hear you speak! I will have my bond!"

She'll be six in August. Go figure.

Our version of the Snowman has a narrator.
It's very pleasant on a stinkin' hot summer afternoon,in a dark room.
            Shrek is still my favorite.

The Bear is very similar to The Snowman, if you get a chance to get hold of it, do.

I'd say that if your shorts are animated then it's time for some pyrethrum.

Let's start with what I have memorized through hundreds of viewings ...

Many Thomas the Tank Engine 'movies'
                        Lion King
                        The Incredibles
                        Finding Nemo
                        Most Arthur episodes ...
                        Tarzan
                        Mulan
Beauty and the Beast (my personal favorite!!)

                        ... and about 30 more!!!!
Nothing else matters but how I raise my children ... and their opinion of me, as a father.

                            The Point.
                            Should be required viewing.
Great music, visuals and a nice message.
