Well the weather finally calmed down (somewhat) and while everyone else in Indy was at the races we decided to take the boat out for pictures. Here is a picture of the Lightning just after launching.

Here is a picture with the sails up and getting ready to shove off.

The winds were light <7mph this time better then the 15mph we tackled the first time. It took a little while to get out of the harbor but eventually we did and had a nice
sail. I bought a Garmin E-trex for checking heading and boat speed. I was able to get the boat up to 5.8 with no fine tuning of the sails. Not bad considering the hull speed is just over 6.

It was quite overcast so the pictures are a little dark. I try to get some better ones tomorrow.

tomorrow if the winds are still light we'll try to fly the chute :D .

Great looking boat Carl.

I did see the one pick getting ready to shove off. I hope mine looks half as good. Sounds like she sails fine to me.

I tried to get the pictures to post. But don't know how. You need to lose the .org.jpg on the end I think.

Happy Sailing and good luck tommorow with the chute.

Congratulations. Thanks for the piccies. Makes me want to desert the work I'm supposed to be doing and head out into the shed.
