I thought Rush's brush with the law over his prescription drug habit was resolved. I guess I am wrong.

looks like he reached a deal ..

Yeah, 18 months of probation as long as he's on his "program" throughout.

I wonder how much it cost?

Maybe he is aptly named. He likes the RUSH

Sounds like the deal most first time drug offenders get.
If he screws up again he'll do time.
It happens to all kinds of people all the time.

Domesticated.
I thought this WAS the second time!
Or does a relapse just mean a continuation?

Hmmmm.....you're right, second time.
Not everyone can repay the investigation cost of $30,000 dollars.
I'm sure money helps keep people out of jail.
Worked for me.
Only cost me the sale of my house, $20,000 and 2 1/2 years in court ........but I was innocent.

There was a piece on 60 minutes about a month ago about a guy who also was convicted of Florida's drug trafficing laws. He got 17 years for the same offence.

I forget, someone remind me....

Does Rush Limbaugh advocate leniency for drug offenders?

He never seemed to like women all that much.

He could go a long way toward redeeming himself if he'd admit his hypocrisy on the issue and use that podium of his to advocate for treatment rather than prison for non-violent addicts. I doubt it will happen, he's too arrogant.

Did he even admit to having a problem?

He made a public mea culpa when it was going to become public anyway. But as far as I know he's never connected that to addiction in general, or recanted his past lecturing about excessive leniency in our treatment of addicts.

It's bizarre that the man has such a large following, but not the first time someone has built a following on lies and hypocrisy.

All that said, I think the way the law has treated him is fairly common for first time offenders who aren't dealing. I just hope he uses this opportunity to speak out about the problem in general. It would show a little humility, and could do some real good.

I posted above but will repeat as you might have missed it.
It was not the first time. It was the second!
Not that it matters.
I wonder if he can have his studio in prison?
If so, the show could be called " Jailhouse Rush".

Elvis in his younger days could swing his hips better.
Imagine Rush doing that on a good day!

I expect he'll find the "born again Christian" path a profitable one to take.

Well, though I and others consider him a hypocritical son of a bitch, I suppose his followers would say he's "our" son of a bitch.

I'd like to see a debate with Rush and James Carvel.
Now that would be interesting!
Do you think either one would answer a question directly?

I used to listen to Rush back in the early to mid 90's, I didn't agree with much he said but he was very entertaining then with his song parodies and the lunatics that would call his show. He did a debate once on a local NYC television show with Wacky (my words)Liberal talk show host Lynn Samuels who was on ABC radio in NY at the time. She ripped him a new azz in the debate. He wisely never engaged in another broadcast debate.

Nah - they're already a glut on the market and their future political power is problematical.

I'd like to see Rush have a debat with any normal mature human being. However, I fear Rushie would have to go to bed without his dinner.

"I'd like to see Rush have a debat with any normal mature human being"

Rush vs Al Franken would be better than a normal human being.
