Decreasing the soluble fiber is not a good thing, that is the stuff in oat-bran (and beans) that lowers cholesterol. Anyway the enzyme in "Beano" (Alpha-galactosidase) is already in beans, you just have to cook them right to let it do the job. They gotta be soaked overnight, then don't bring them straight to a boil; instead bring them to 150 or so and kill the heat, let them rest 1/2 hour. Now bring them to a boil and finish cooking. They'll have a nice texture and the "beano" enzyme will make them pootless.

I've just been reading the news frm CAMRA,the organisation dedicated to preserving the brewing and consumption of real beer.Those forumites not based in the British Isles may not be aware that it was recently made illegal to smoke while in a pub in Scotland.It seems that without the overwhelming smell of smoke,there is no disguising the after effects of real beer,sometimes mixed with pickled eggs or gherkins.
