I recently saw a 14ft. Whitehall type boat at the San Francisco Maritime Museum which was fitted with a leeboard attached to the hull through a inverted'U' shaped bronze bracket which bolted into the forward oarlock socket. It was a tidy, elegant solution. Has anyone seen hardware like this and know where it can be purchased? This could possibly be a custom, one-of-a-kind item.

A properly prepared teak cleat makes a bery nice way of doing it for that size boat. Essentially the hole for the cleat to pass through is cut 90 degrees from where the board will sit when working, with a pivot hole in the middle. The bottom of the board faces forward and the cleat slipped through, and when the board is swung down it locks in place. Need a picture? Interested?
