Any SF Bay Area Forumites are invited to head over to either Thorne Hall or the Marina Bay boatramp off Marina Way S. in Richmond for the big splashdown of my dory.

Should happen 10-ish, weather and rigging willin'. Les Schuldt plans on showing up with kayak & camera, so you'll either see some lovely shots of my lovely boat -- or pics of it turned turtle with me splashing about alongside.

;0 )

I live in Richmond North & East near McBryde & I80, so anyone who gets there early is invited to stop by - cell 510 812 1534.

Aye!..Goood on ya, mate!....We're on our last CA. sail, doing a film, then shipping out...enjoy the Bay. And if that looks dicey, then enjoy the turning basin!!..

All ready (well, more or less) for launch!

We had a LOVELY time and WB Forumite Les Schuldt came out for the party -- and was a huge help with launching, photos and advice. Some small issues as you can expect on a maiden voyage -- had to cut the cork out of the centerboard top to shove the board down, and the yoke tiller proved surprisingly hard to hold when the winds kicked up.

We were all amazed at how well she handled with three adults on board, and with two rowers she moved right along. Both masts and sail rigs worked out well, with the predicted weather helm being more of an issue when the winds kicked up in the afternoon.

Anyone up for a trip tomorrow? ;0 )

Yeah, well when my arm stops spasming I might just maybe sorta could consider it...nah.

;- )

I obviously need to start using the rowing machines at the office gym during the week to prepare for my weekends. The alternative is the photo of Mary and Les rowing, with me lounging in the sternsheets and steering with the lines...I like that one best!

I've made a second webpage for sailing pics of the dory, so the restoration page stays focused on the building -- not all done by any means.

Here's the new page - http://www.luckhardt.com/dory2.html
