And it's only April. Our average temps in April is supposed to be in the 70's.

I think the entire eastern seaboard is in for a hot summer. I am sure it is going to be hot here in MD.
Seems like a good year to sail to Nova Scotia. :)

My philosphy. You can always wear more clothes but there reaches a point where you can only take so many off without getting arrested.
I've sailed with frost on the deck in the morning and a bit chilly during the night.
Wood is a good insulator.

We've had cool and rainy battling fronts here. Maybe 55 F. today.

I like it. The mild winter has our guard down.

I thought today, as I wandered that it would be a good day for sailing. Got a few items on the list to make ready my little boat. The water is still very cold, but the zephyrs are calling.

Here's my list:

Repair the broken screw in the stem fitting

New dock liines

Wash and wax

Clean and oil the teak

replace the lower unit oil in the outboard

Buy a GPS, because I can't figure out the compass on this boat

Get spares for the clevis pins and their circlips

Clean out the intake valve on the bilge pump, something is stuck in there. Not looking forward to that, it's awkward.

Replace the nut on the starboard jib cleat. It dissappeared years ago.

A waterproof bag, I want one of those for various gear.

Other than that, I'm ready.

What would that be in F?

Multiply by 1.8 and add 32.

20 x 1.8 =36

36 + 32 = 68°

It must be hot in Texas; I've heard reports of rolling blackouts all over the state. . .

I learned in imperial, but metric is a far superior system. My brain has to do conversion for it make sense to me half the time.

yeah it's better 'cause the incriments are larger for small hands to hold on to and less likely to cause choking
