Does anybody have a recommendation or link to help me choose a trolling motor for a 14' canoe? This canoe is primarily to be used for fishing on both small and large (Squam Lake, NH) lakes. I anticipate the owner would probably use the motor as the primary source of propulsion.
Thanks

The short shaft trolling motor that the Old Town Canoe Company sells to go with their boats has 30 lbs. of thrust. Last time I checked, Old Town and Minn Kota were both owned by Johnson Wax and Minn Kota has been making a special model trolling motor for Old Town for quite a while.
