Yesterday it was 61 and I was out riding my bike wearing shorts. Right now the wind is blowing well over 40mph and the temperture has dropped 15 degrees in less than 1 hour. oh and a big boom of thunder that just sent a 65 lb poodle diving under my desk

..turned dark here about an hour ago..Lil Critter ran outside to do her thing then ran back inside..wouldn't go on the deck unless I went outside and sat with her...I think she smells it coming...In a thunderstorm she wants from the foot of the bed to right near my pillow....

really strange weather on the Eastern Shore.....cloudy...okay...wind has picked up...no rain...just a day more like March than Feb.
I don't know what is going on and I doubt whether the weather forecasters do either...which in itself is not news.

It took a long time, but winter finally arrived. Right now it's -5F (-21C), wind NW, 26 mph, but sunny. Predicted high today -2F (-19C). Tonight it's going to get pretty cold.

Just love it when somebuddy from Min E Sota! says "tonight it's gonna get pretty cold." How did all them Scandihoovians learn such British understatement? Where does that come from, as it relates to cold and extreme weather?

Cedar, you will forget all about this winter weather when you folks in the UP have your summer, the first 3 days of August. tongue.gif

About 28F here, and blowing like hell... it's calmed down a bit, but this morning was a steady 25 knots gusting to 45 or so..

Sparkling sunny champagne day here - not a cloud in the sky. High expected to be only 42 though, which is ~10 higher than previously forecast, but the artic front didn't come down as far as it was thought it might.

Bit breezy though. 50mph winds knocked out power to 47,000 people last night.

How did all them Scandihoovians learn such British understatement? Where does that come from, as it relates to cold and extreme weather?:D Well, I'm not Scandinavian, but I think it's contagious. Perhaps it's because if every time it got cold we said, "Jesus T. Christ, it's so god*amned bodacious horrible f**king cold that the nitrogen is collecting in puddles in the gutters and the snow is WAY up over the roof and the sled dogs are all frozen and even the mosquitos are starting to get a little sluggish and Lake Superior is frozen all the way to the bottom and the St. Paul schools are even thinking about closing for a snow day!!!!!!  " we'd run completely out of adjectives in about the middle of December and have to sit around mutely staring at each other until May.

Speaking of cold, as the sun sets in a cloudless sky, it's going to be ice cubes here tonight!
