You know what sucks, driving 200 plus miles with a 25' Lyman hardtop and have the bottom planks and frames burst within 5 miles of my shop.

This was my day today. 230 miles on the trailer to get this latest project in for a new bottom and have it collapse on the trailer bunks (port side) 5 miles from home. Damn this sucks, would have preferred it happen in the yard, but have to admit I'm grateful it didn't when just 50 miles from the start of the trip.

I and the owner knew it needed frames and a bottom, but man those last few miles made me sweat more then the height of the August sun in Florida.

She's here and needed the work anyway, so I'll be stripping and blocking in the morning once the hang over rubs off.

Just once, it would be nice to have it go the way it was planed . . .

P.S.
Has anyone any info on Ibis (Save a Classic, last issue WB) I heard she was scheduled for the chain saw this month?

Sorry to hear about the minor setback. :(

Don't worry though, it's a Lyman after all. ;) Definately worth the time, effort and money.
When you're done you'll have a wonderful boat like this.

Hang in there and please keep us posted on your progress.

P.S. Also, before you tear into the hull, you might want to get the Lyman Hull Production Number(for that model it should be between K-1000 and K-1770. There were 770 25 footers made.) and convince the owner to get a documentation package from Doc Lyman (aka Tom Koroknay).

His website is a wealth of info on Lyman Restoration.
