:D ...yeah, but do they go out of their way to gather up a couple thousand brown snakes into one place and then have a festival surrounding them, including the serving of deep fat fried brownsnake?

Opp Alabama Rattlesnake Rodeo (http://rattlesnakerodeo.com/)

uncas
02-28-2006, 06:12 PM
No...it's a lot easier to survive a rattlesnake bite...than a brown snake's...
In fact...the mortality from snakebite in the US is quite low...
Now in Aussie land...there are a few snakes in which the time it takes to pray is too long... :D

actuyally...I am very much opposed to these rodeos...

You have to know I was merely being satirical. Why do I have a Corvette, I really don't know to tell the truth, it just sort of happened. :D I've always been a fan of German cars, specifically Porsches and BMW M series cars, and not really much of a Corvette fan. Weird huh?

Actually here's the story, I was on my way to a fishing trip in Tampa last year when my truck was sidelined after purchasing bad diesel fuel. At the Chevy dealer where my truck was taken to, an individual walked in beside me and traded in a brand new Corvette with 86 miles on it that he had bought the day before. His wife told him he couldn't keep it, he traded it in on a Caddilac SUV. I asked the manager what he would take for it; I don't know if he thought I was serious or not but he handed me the window sticker and said he'd knock $15,000 off of it if I'd buy it right then. I test drove it and came back and handed him a check. His jaw hit the floor, I went fishing. :D

Savannah, I love this city. Its gorgeous architecturaly and from a city planning perspective - both the old and the new parts of it. I enjoy the parks especially, and the friendliness of the people that live and visit here. I like the music scene. I especially enjoy the cuisine. Because of the well known art school downtown, one never runs out of small and large studios to tour. The weather has been fantastic. There's about to be a pollen/dogwood/azelia bloom explosion throughout the city. I can't wait

Besides all that, I love being able to spend some real quality time with my sister. Of my nine siblings, she is the one I was closest to when growing up and since we live in different cities and both run businesses we haven't been able to see each other like we used to.

My sister's house has a protected deep water mooring on either side of the penininsula she lives on. If you decide to cruise this way I could probably arrange a safe place for your boat.

There, there, Shane. You truly shouldn't fantasize quite so much. Is it the hot summer Australian sun? Lack of exercise? Spending too much time closeted away with your schooner fold-outs?

Ah, I think I know. It's the proximity. Or lack of, I think would be more appropriate. And I can imagine how you feel, and my imagination just boggles me.

Lets break it down...

It is approximately 12,000 miles from your location to Norwalk , Ct., Lisa's home town. It is approximately 600 miles from my location to Lisa's. IF we do the math (and we CAN do that here in North Carolina) we find that I am, roughly, 11,400 miles closer the object of your misguided affection. What's more, the 600 miles (give or take, a day's drive) is reduced to a mere inconvenience, thanks to the benefit of working for a major international airline which provides me with free air travel.

Counseling, Shane. We all need it from time to time. It's just your turn, that's all. No big deal. Nothing to be ashamed of. Lisa and I, we'll join hands and send positive thoughts across that 12,000 miles and hope, sincerely hope, you find those good wishes effective in dealing with what must be a phenomenal feeling of dejection (I refrain from using the more appropriate terminology, IE "rejection," in deference to your condition).

You are welcome to vent, as you have, and is appropriate. Share your inner most feelings with us, Shane. We are family. We care. We want to help.

Phil

Phil mate... geography has nothing to do with it mate... she quite simply dotes on me... yes your close by miliage but mate close by heart? I think not! that fine wee raven haired beauty has taken me to her boosom and keeps me there close to her inner most heart... you you bearded young fella wouldnt know that feelin bein as your soooooo close and all...

See me and the loverly Lisa are close time and distance cannot hold back our feelins nor can differences in accents although she will have to slow down a tad so I can keep up yous yanks do yammer at a mile a minute!... but see its not even that that can make a difference Phil she knows a fine figure of a man when she sees one... she spotted me a fair few years back now and was stunned utterly gobsmaked with me beauty me fine sturdy good looks happy visage smilin dial and laughin eyes... you with your doe eyes dont stand a chance!!

Never did actually... Im sorry I didnt want to bring you down but mate its just the way it is... us Aussies are firmly ensconsed in your sheilas minds as utter studs great blokes and well... ahem everyone knows we make the best lovers... ahem not that she has asked me in that way!! I mean shes a true lady is our Lisa and has taken her lessons in womanly things from the matriach Margo very well... Margo is proud of her no doubt

And its this that keeps them both from coming in and telling you to get over it move on cause theyre ladys... Kat on the other hand... well... ahem... shes a bit of a floosy is our Kat girl {I did see but not partake of the sugarbritches thread) but thats okay a nice bit of floosy now an agains good for the soul eh wot?!! :D

See when Memphis Mike started that increadible sugarbritches thread I thought wow!! that must hurt... I mean no one has ever started a major thread for our gorgeous kayak builder Lisa or our darling Margo have they... no so now I have

See even in that you didnt stand a chance young fella!... I think of both our darling ladies those fine figures of sheilas Lisa and Margo constantly... they are my breath they are my heart... time and distance are as naught to our hearts

Now on the other hand obviously you bein a young fella think that the physical closeness is all important and such great distance is impossible to surmount without gettin on a big silver bird or sailin all those miles... but mate as an older phart I know... and Jamie definantly knows since hes bloody near ancient... as for John well John is a sheep chucker I mean come on!!! sheep??? Lisa?? Margo?? no equasion!! but anyways... as an older phart Ive come to realize that its the tantric love that matters most the love without touch the gentleness of feelings the distant emotions that zap through the ions of time and space to wrap ones heart into a knot of joy and love that matters most

I think the world of you young fella a top bloke indeed... but you do need to see that you simply must give this fantasy up its gonna do you no good at all... since they both all three are totally besotted by myownself!

Well it was either you or young Paul and mate you gotta admit your usually right in the middle of things eh! :D ... mmm then again maybe Peter?? Damnitall I am gettin older by the flamin second here!!

See Jamie our gorgeous fiery redhead the young Margo has this internal TPF system (Tiller Positioning Finder) inside her so she just naturally finds and gravitates to the tiller... but she has been known to shove push bite head butt and in extreme cases twist gronicles to get to the tiller she does not accept no when it comes to a tiller... shes not only the Varnish queen of the forum but also the madam lash of tiller control!!... mind you shes just as bad when it comes to a wheel... she just cant help herself... its a control thing ;) Me? If it were my boat Id see her comin grab a cushion toss it next to the tiller and say "MARGO!!! Your seat awaits my dear and was that tea or rum with that tiller? :D

As to the poor wee bearded one from Shelby... well I suppose I should cut him some slack... young fella that he is is prolly just sittin back doin a bit of this... http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid47/pba887bd7286feb90b6609e7a8b922af0/fcc8e74d.gif
