I think I did not give enough info on my previous post I am removing plywood decking and installing plank mahogony decking is the 3/8 or 7/16 still enough or do I need to go thicker Thansk in advance Dean

hmm... most mahogany runabouts (Chris-Crafts and such) were decked with 3/8 to 1/2". In your case I would underlay it with 3mm bs1088 ply to retain sheer strength, and bed the planking in 5200.

Hi Dean;
The scheme of a thin ply substrate is a good one if the edge detail can be worked out nicely and you don't have to bend the plywood in two directions at the same time. I can't remember if the Wagemaker foredeck is flat like a Dunphy or has a crown in it.
If it does have a crown, cut the ply into 3" wide strips, install on the bias, sand fair, then install the mahog. strips over the top. Don't forget to cut the caulking rabbit in those mahog. strips before installing.
