Full day of boat work and still trying to shake a cold.

9:00 AM went to work on Dove. Deep in the bilge scraping and sanding prepping for paint. Lots of small little bits needing finishing to start putting things back together again.

3:00 Pick up Tess at school then down to my barn to work on Tidbit. Sand all the floorboards mask off everything and mix up Interlux Grand Banks Beige with just a tint of black to give it a slightly grayer darker hue than the strait Grand Banks on the seats. Whew Why does it take FOREVER to mask everything ??? All that time crunched up in the bilge and tight forpeak of both boats does wonders for a 41 year old back and knees

8:45 PM I'm in for the night and off to the showers and catch up on the WBF ;)

FWIW it feels good to be sore from boat work :D

Funny... I painted the inside of a wooden lightning I restored with Grand Banks beige... a very tasteful color I thought.... that was ten years ago.

DutchI did and it was wonderful to get my hands all smeared with paint drippings with out worry then just peal the dirty gloves off and tossed them into the trash. Then I just grabbed the mahogany cockpit rail that worked so hard on sanding and applying 12 coats of varnish. The rail looks all glossy and perfect. I just climbed out without a smudge of paint on the varnish. You can see me varnishing said mahogany rail in this photo ( with gloves of course ;) )

The varnish was dry and my hands were perfectly clean. I climbed out of the boat and had the satisfaction of knowing if Dutch even had a boat he would have gotten Interlux brightside smeared all over the coming rail and who knows where else. :D :D

Hey hows about a photo of YOU varnishing YOUR boat. :D
