View Full Version : Looking for pic of boat buried in the sand ?sable island shoals?

I am trying to find a picture that I have seen on the web of a modern sailboat ?40ft-50ft? that is mostly buried in the sand. The level of the sand as I recall is right at or slightly above the deck. The entire rig, lifelines etc are sticking up above the sand. The boat/rig is sitting in normal level trim. I seem to remember that the location was Sable Island shoals.

I checked out a 30 footer on the beach in Cape May last fall, buried above the waterline... no pics though.

Sable Island is one of the graveyards of the North Atlantic, and cautious navigators assiduously avoided coming nearer to it than their margin of error would allow...
