My dad bought a 36" cabin cruiser in the mid 60s and sold it just before he passed away in 1970. My brothers and I (all 8 of us) would love to find some info on the boat. nobody knows what kind it was, but on the stern there were two cast plates over what we assume were vent holes. the plates just had 3 letters but we do not know what they were. We do know that was the boat company name, though.

The boat was wooden, 36 feet long had a "flying bridge" on top. A small galley, bathroom, a table with benches and a "couch" that each turned into bunks. My dad put a V8 engine from a modern car but I do not know what the original was. The boat was moored in Kehoes Harbor in Hingham, MA and wintered somewhere in Weymouth, MA. As my father had a sense of humor the name of the boat was the "Orgy 1". Any ideas how we can find info? We do have some pictures of the boat, but none of us has caught the bug and none of us sail.

Thanks for the help.

Check the Coast Guard Documentation Center and the town records, a boat that big should have some records in archive somewhere.

Need a picture for the best bet smile.gif or at least a better description, but a better description will result in only better guesses . Flying bridges were pretty rare for boats built in the 1930's. The hull construction will pretty much cut the possibilities in half. Was the hull carvell planked (smooth sided) or lapstrake (like clapboard siding on a house).
