Never tried this before hope it works!
-JULIE MAY - name she was born with -- named after daughter of original owner. I bought it from the original owner who had her built
-42'X 12'West Coast Salmon troller
-Built 1968
-Alberni Engineering and Shipyards
-carvel planked doug fir 5"x1 1/4" on oak frames.
-foredeck is 1 3/4"teak. Window frames are also teak. I asked the owner why? His reply "when you spend you life fishing you want it to be nice".
-ironwood waterline guard 6"above waterline and 24"below.
-hi-liner fish boat until 1999 when I bought it. I refused to do anything but think about design for 1 year. Spent the last 2 years doing conversion to pleasure cruiser. Getting close to finishing, probably this summer and part of next winter (spare time project for me) I've done all design, building and fabrication

Works perfectly- nice boat! I've often checked out the French Creek listings for treasures, thinking about doing a conversion. But I think my next boat will be a bigger sailboat, even though summer sailing in the NW leaves a lot to be desired!

A well balanced design- good job!

Thanks! Your right about the weather, had a sailboat, spent too much time standing at the wheel A)in the rain,B)under power. All the other happy soles on the boat cuddled up to the furnace down below. Getting close to finishing this one. Calling it my practice boat and going maybe 50 -55. As a matter of fact I was at French Creek Boat sales this afternoon just poking around. They where saying it's getting almost impossible to get a decent 42 footer. Most have gone and no recent buy-backs. A huge number of them went state side into the fleet.

This one caught my interest, but at 10' beam is a bit narrow, a common problem with these boats. She looks to be in good shape though, and the asking price sure is right!

Conrad, 10ft. beam is a problem, I didn't want anything under 12ft. it becomes difficult to get usable salon space. Plus I imagine they would roll heavy. These boats where designed to roll in heavy seas. It is more comfortable than a stiff boat as a work platform for the fishermen. You may see some commercial boats with cannonballs right in the tops of the trolling poles,or high up in the rigging, this is done to slow the roll.
