.
Occasionally we get some off-the-wall enquiries here that have us stumped. And we've got one at the moment.
We have a client who is looking for some cannons to grace the deck of a 65' barquentine, a la "pirate ship." http://www.woodenboatfittings.com.au/public/skull&crossbones.gif
Here's the specification --
"We are looking for four cannons around 30 to 36 inches, 12 gauge, bronze or iron, with or without carriages."
Now I know there are plenty of people out there who know all about spud guns, but can anyone enlighten me about gen-u-ine cannons please? (Or I suppose quakers too for that matter, as long as they look realistic.) What if anything might be available, materials, sizes, costs, where from, etc, etc?

It's a wacky sort of request, so I don't mind some wacky answers. But I'd love to have some real information I can pass on as well.
An' thank 'ee kindly, me 'earties. I be most grateful. Aarrrrr!
